2020 Fulbright Chair opportunities for Canadian Faculty and Researchers

Research Chairs Program

Fulbright Canada Research Chairs are intended for Canadian citizens who are exceptional scholars and/or experienced professionals who wish to conduct research and/or lecture in the United States.

The award is valued at $25,000 for one semester beginning in either September 2020 or January 2021. The 2020-21 competition deadline is November 15, 2019. (Applicants who will not have a Ph.D. in hand at the time they would take up their award, should they be successful in the competition, must apply to the Fulbright Canada Student Program.)

These Fulbright Awards provide approximately 20 teaching and/or research grants to Canadian faculty and experienced professionals in a wide variety of academic and professional fields.

 Grant length : Applicants can propose projects for a period of 4, 5 or 8 months.
 The dates of the awards should coincide with the academic year of the host institution.
 Now accepting applications for awards to be taken up in the 2020-2021 Academic Year
 Applications accepted until November 15, 2019

Eligibility for these awards, require the candidate to meet the minimum requirements mentioned below :
 Be Canadian citizens (Permanent residence is not sufficient).
 Hold a PhD or equivalent professional/terminal degree as appropriate.
 Be proficient in English.

Please note that applicants are not eligible if they are dual U.S.-Canadian citizen ; Hold permanent residency status in the United States ; Reside in the United States.
